Now that Dads and Grads are out of the way, it’s time for Wedding Season! I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect gift for a late June wedding. Being the consummate rebel, I’d rather not do my gift giving completely from a Registry. I mean, a set of spatulas is very nice, but the most memorable gifts are a bit more unique.
I started my hunt in East Greenwich, which works out perfectly because 1. The couple is from East Greenwich and 2. I live in East Greenwich so a gift that is both local and convenient is a win-win for me (and the couple)! My first stop was The Green Door at 130 Main Street. To be honest, they lured me in with their green topiaries because I’ve been craving a topiary graced front door since we moved in December. I probably would have already bought them except for the fact that my husband has little faith in my ability to care for them and has challenged me to keep a tomato plant alive through the summer. So far so good for a notorious black thumb plant killer.
But back to my gift giving… Without knowing the couples’ taste particularly well (I guess this is what registries are for, but I like to make life more difficult but I’m always up for a challenge), I’d like to stay away from anything too niche. Then I found personalized cutting board and personalized wine coasters! Perfect! The Green Door offers beautiful personalized cutting boards with the couple’s initials. Who couldn’t use a cutting board? I also really liked the personalized marble coasters that allow you to pick from four styles: French, Italian, Californian, or Australian wine labels.
These are my personal favorites. You can even see them for yourself online here.
The Green Door, which has been around as long as I can remember, was a great help in finding a suitable and eclectic gift for my friends. I’m sure I’ll be back soon! Now grab your clutches ladies and make sure you have enough room for your iPhone, credit card, and lipstick – it’s Wedding Season!
